SYDNEY PLACE AND SALES FORCE TOWER, SYDNEY

Sydney Place is a landmark mixed-use precinct that has redefined a pivotal section of Sydney’s CBD, transforming a formerly fragmented city block into a connected, pedestrian focused urban destination. The development is structured around a series of interconnected, human scale streetscapes and laneways that re establish north south and east west movement through the ground plane, creating a vibrant public realm activated by curated retail, dining and hospitality offerings.

At the heart of the precinct is a major civic pavilion, conceived as a flexible public and cultural space that supports events, gatherings and everyday city life, reinforcing Sydney Place as both a commercial address and a genuine civic destination.

Rising above the precinct is Salesforce Tower, Sydney’s tallest commercial office tower, setting a new benchmark for premium workplace design, sustainability and skyline presence. Together, the tower and surrounding podium deliver a highly integrated mixed use place that balances global commercial scale with local urban character.

Our Role Supporting Sydney Place and Salesforce Tower

Our role was to lead the development through two critical years of the delivery phase during the COVID-19 pandemic, providing clear leadership and stability through unprecedented disruption. This phase required adaptive delivery strategies and decisive governance to maintain programme certainty, manage risk and protect value while navigating lockdowns, supply chain delays and workforce constraints.

A central responsibility was managing the international joint venture capital partner relationship, leading governance and investment committee processes and aligning decision making across partners. Clear, timely recommendations were provided to enable informed decisions under conditions of uncertainty. Maintaining trust, transparency and alignment was essential to sustaining momentum, protecting value and ensuring confidence throughout delivery.

Particular emphasis was placed on disciplined management of programme, cost, and revenue outcomes, ensuring construction progressed on schedule and within budget. Delivery strategies were adapted to mitigate disruption while optimising tenant handovers and commercial performance. Despite COVID related impacts on the office sector, the building outperformed practical completion leasing forecasts, reflecting the strength and resilience of the offering and the effectiveness of integrated delivery leadership, governance and stakeholder management.
